Derek Cominskie
Senior Pastor
Derek has serve as a pastor at Tippett's Chapel since 2016, being called to the role of lead pastor in 2019. A graduate of Welch College, Derek also holds an M.Div from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he received the Nannie Bruce Nelson Award for the Study of the New Testament. Derek is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology, also from SEBTS.
Derek has also had several opportunities to serve in denominational leadership at the local, state, and national levels. In 2023, he served as the North Carolina Vertical Three Conference Advisor as well as on the Steering Committee for the National Convention. Derek currently chairs the North Carolina State Youth Board, as well as the Randall Association Board of Ministerial Standing.

He and his wife Shelby live right here in Clayton, and are actively involved in our community. Derek serves on the Advisory Board for the Town of Clayton's Parks and Recreation Department. The Cominskies can be seen frequently at town outings, sports activities, and kayaking on the Neuse.
